Obituary for Zora Lauc

Zora Lauc

July 21, 1932 – April 9, 2024

Finally at peace, it is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Zora Lauc in her 92nd year. Zora passed away comfortably at Riverview Gardens surrounded by family.

Born in Vašarovići, Bosnia and Hercegovina, a small village in the former Yugoslavia. She immigrated to Canada in the early 1970s.

Sister-in-law of Vesna (Jerkić). Cherished aunt of Tony (Kathy) Lauc, Danijela (Tiago) Lauc-Soares; Ante Lauc, Dijana Lauc and many other nieces and nephews back in Hercegovina . Adored “Tetka” to Kaleb, Ava, Adam and Anthony; Mathieu, Naia and Neven.

Predeceased by her Parents Mijo and Andja; brothers Srecko, Vlatko, Mirko, Ante, Dušan and Ivan; Sisters Vinka, Mira, Dragica and Ana.

She was a fierce opponent, friend and mother to many. A harder worker you would not find.

Zora was passionate about gardening, keeping things clean and of course her favorite sport “wrestling”.

She embraced the opportunity to buy her first car many years ago, and every vehicle thereafter. Those cars would always remain in impeccable shape and spotless. Her car was always her prized possession.

Zora and her family are thankful for the care and compassion shown by the staff at Riverview Gardens; a special thank you to those staff who referred to her as their “momma” – I’m sure she loved that.

A private family funeral will be celebrated.
