With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loving dad Wayne Shortt, a resident of Petrolia on Sunday August 1, 2021 at St Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia.  Born in Oil Springs 86 years ago. Son of the late Russell and Beatrice Shortt. Father of Laurie Smith (Bill), Tami Page (Will), and James Shortt (Missy). Grandfather of Jennifer Edwards (Jay), Julie Smith, Kendra Whitney (James), Nathan Page, Britney Scholte (Kyle). Kameron Turner.  Great grandfather of nine.  Survived by sisters Eldine Bedell, Joyce Stinson, and Geraldine Caven (Bruce).  Predeceased by sister Verlane Bresett.  Survived by many nieces and nephews.  Also survived by special friends Sharon and Wendy. Wayne worked for many years as a truck driver and farmer. He loved his family time sitting around the campfire at his treasured farm. Loved to camp and socialize.  Keeping with Wayne’s wishes, no service will be held. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will take place at a later date.  Expressions of sympathy appreciated through donations to the St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia.
