Heaven has gained a new angel. It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Susan Verschraegen. On Thursday, July 9 th 2020, Sue passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, after a brief battle with cancer. She was a lifelong resident of Chatham, Ontario and a proud nurse for over 30 years. Loving mother of Adrian (Brittany) and Jeremy (Nikki), and special Nana of Ava, Cole, Ella, George, Ivin, and Grace. Survived by Mike Beaumont, sister Shelley, brothers David (Beth) and Brian (Darlene), and step-mothers Ann Patricia and Marvella. Predeceased by her mother and father (Dolores and George). She will also be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In keeping with Sue’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of Sue’s life will be held at a later date when all of her family and friends can safely gather. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Sue are asked to donate to a charity of their own choosing. Online condolences are welcomed.
