Shane passed away on Saturday, August 20th 2022, at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, surrounded by his daughters Kristen and Lauren Cotter, and his loving wife of 42 years, Susan Cotter (“all his girls,” as he called them).  Shane will be remembered for his contagious smile, loving nature, and especially his “no nonsense” personality. He was always up for a party or an adventure. An avid reader who absorbed random facts and pieces of knowledge, perpetually interested in learning new things. He was an animal lover, feeding squirrels and rescuing birds, and happiest when surrounded by his dogs. He was the best father his girls could ask for, and was also a “Dad” to many – always willing to give a warm hug and a smile when needed.  At Shane’s request there will not be a funeral, but a party in his honour will be held at a later date. Details will be provided to family and friends in the future.  As Shane was a transplant recipient 22 years ago, in lieu of flowers and donations, his family asks that you please register as an organ donor, and speak to your loved ones about your organ donation wishes. “On that fateful day, he was given  Chance Two .”
