Roy Howard Sutherland passed away peacefully at home on December 11 2020 after a short battle with cancer. Son of the late Earl & Doris (Hyatt) Sutherland. Roy was born on February 28, 1957 in Chatham, where he lived his whole life. Missed by best friend and loving companion Deb Morrison. Much loved by daughter Jayme-Leigh Gardiner & Joel Gardiner, and son Derek Sutherland & Cassandra Daigneau. Proud grandpa of Alyson and Brennan Gardiner. Loving brother of Linda and her husband John Lewis and Edward (Ted) Sutherland and his wife Lisa Sutherland. Roy leaves many loving nieces and nephews Tim & Dawn Lewis, Jay & Christina Sutherland, Al & Lindsey Sutherland, Amanda Sutherland, and Olivia Sutherland.Roy graduated from CKSS and worked for Bell Canada and Expertech until his retirement. The family would like to thank Dr. John Leigh, the oncology department at Victoria Hospital, the caregivers from VON and Erie St. Clair LHIN especially Laurie, Lisa, and Monica.At Roy’s request, a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
