With heavy hearts we announce that on September 4, 2019 at Chatham Kent Health Alliance Rod Baker, age 73 was taken home to be with the Lord. Son of the late Fred and Margaret Baker. Husband of Deborah (nee Aikenhead). Father of Stephen Baker, Candace Towers ( Jason), Jacob Kobylka and Joel Kobylka ,Jennifer Tran). Grandad to Jackson, Brayden and Riley Towers, Julia and Jeremy Kobylka, Ellie and Max Tran. Predeceased by his sister Eileen Baker. Rod leaves behind nieces Tracey, Sam, Zoe and Kelly back in England. Also survived by his best friend Brad Doub. Rod loved his dogs Sabre, Yabut and Pilot. Rod immigrated to Canada from England in 1979. He worked for many years as a Millwright at Navistar and belonged to Maple City Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers please consider making a memorial contribution to the Ronald McDonald House . All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life on Sunday September 22, 2019 from 1-4 pm at T-Bones on Charing Cross Rd. (Brief memorial service at 1:30 pm).
