VANDERSLUIS, Rinze “Ray” at Chatham Kent Hospice on Saturday June 24, 2017 at the age of 69, our loving husband, father, and brother, Ray VanderSluis entered his eternal home. Ray was born in Lollum, Netherlands on July 30, 1947 and immigrated to Canada at the age of 3. Ray lived in Hamilton for a year and Cambridge for 3 years but settled his family in Chatham, where he lived and worked his entire life. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12: 1,2. He will be truly missed by his children and 14 grandchildren: Sarah and Dustyn Pumfrey, Josh, Andrea and Kelli, Dan and Karen VanderSluis, Isabelle and Eva, Rachel and Brad Goodreau, Sydney, Emma, Madeline and James, Mary Ellen and Jay Alward, Jakob and Olivia, Phil and Jessie-Lynn VanderSluis, Tyler, Danielle, and Jackson.
