Obituary for Richard Ronson

RONSON, Richard (Rick) Ronson. Passed away peacefully on August 6, 2017 after a short battle with liver cancer at the age of 66 at Riverview Gardens, Chatham. Pre-deceased by his parents, Alice (2000) and Murray Ronson (2004), and 2 brothers James and David (both 1958). Rick is survived by sisters Barbara McLachlan (Lloyd), Kathryn Blissett (Doug Folkins), brothers Beverly, Gordon and Kenneth, and nieces Beth McLachlan, Jessica Seabrook (Graham), and Sarah Blissett, 3 grand nephews, and his beloved cat Mitzy (aka Spitfire). Born in Chatham, Rick spent much of his life at Southwestern Regional Centre. He then lived independently in Chatham for more than 20 years under the watchful eye of Community Living Chatham Kent. He moved to Riverview in 2015. In his youth, Rick won many track and field honours through Special Olympics. He was an avid walker, and a fan of Elvis Presley, the Montreal Canadiens, bowling and playing pool.Thanks to the staff at Riverview for their care and diligence. Special thanks to his support worker Darlene and the extended family and friends at Community Living for many years of laughter, kindness and companionship. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11 am at Community Living, 101 Stewart St, Chatham. In honour of his love for anything Canadiana, dress in red or white (both both) if desired.
