Obituary for Renee Morrison

Renee Morrison passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25th at Chatham Kent Health Alliance, with her daughter, son-in-law, and best friends by her side. Survived by her daughter Meagan Ilisevic (nee Morrison), son-in-law Jayson Ilisevic, her “girls,” her fur babies, Suzie and Ellie, sister Stacey Bauer, bother-in-law Damon Bauer, nephew Nickolas Bauer, cousin Patty (Dave Wolfe), as well as countless amazing friends who have turned into family.

My mom was a beautifully independent, smart women, who could do it all. She loved steeped tea, her gardens, hot summer days when she could jump in the pool, but also loved a good snow fall too. She was always so brave and strong, and made sure she taught me how to be the same.

Renee's loved ones have ensured her legacy will live on through organ and tissue donation. Through that generous decision, Renee will touch countless others who will be forever impacted by their improved quality of life, made possible through these selfless gifts.

Heart felt gratitude to Dr. McCullough, the CKHA emerge nurses and doctors, as well as the ICU nurses, doctors and social workers and palliative care nurses, especially Kelly, Laurie, Gerry, Karen M, Antonia, Lynn, and Dr. Shaarbaf. Your constant guidance, hugs, check ins, and understanding of such a delicate situation will never be forgotten. The world is a better place because of you. Special thanks to Donna and Mike Normandin for everything small, big, and in between. My mom loved you like you were her own, and you loved her just the same. I will forever be indebted to you for all you’ve done for my mom.

Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Renee’s name are asked to please consider Diabetes Canada and the PAWR.
