Obituary for Peter Millward

MILLWARD, PETER – On July 4, 2018, Peter Millward passed away at his residence surrounded by his family in his 82nd year.  Predeceased by his wife, Rose-Ann (Lamb), in 2015. Father of Mike Millward and Margaret (Art) Reaume. Grandfather of Hayley (Shayne) Wilbur and Marissa Reaume (Anderson Little). Peter was born in Manchester, England on March 3, 1937.  He started working in the coal mines at the age of 15. From there he was conscripted into the National Service (as it was known), serving 2 years in the 7th Queen’s Own Hussars, a tank regiment.  He spent 18 months in Hong Kong when it was still a British Colony.  Peter immigrated to Canada in 1965 with love and support from his cousins Alfred and Edith Greenhalgh and Ron and Mary Parker.  He worked at Ontario Steel for 17 years and then at Libby’s and Nestle’s before retiring.   During Peter’s retirement he enjoyed going for his daily coffee’s at Tim Hortons and socialized with the community. He was an avid sports fan of the Red Wings, Manchester United, and most importantly the Chatham Maroons.  Donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice would be appreciated.
