It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Arlene Apthorp “Pat” of Chatham on Thursday, November 17, 2022. Yet we rejoice in knowing that she is now with Jesus, her Lord and Saviour. Beloved sister of Daniel (Nettie) Apthorp of Blenheim, Kenneth Apthorp and Wendy Apthorp of Chatham. Predeceased by her parents, Harry and Virginia (Bancroft) Apthorp, and sister-in-law Victoria Apthorp “Vicky” (January 2022). Dear Aunt of Mike Apthorp, Lori (Ron) Jones, Jason (Rachel) Apthorp, Chris (Melissa) Apthorp and Deb (Marc) Mayhew. Also survived by eleven great nieces and nephews.

Pat grew up on the family farm in Raleigh Township, moving to Chatham in the Spring of 1978. She attended Canada Business College earning a Secretarial Certificate, and held secretarial/clerical positions at several places of employment during her working career. Pat also played the piano and organ for many years at Evangel Community Church.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Evangel Community Church, 76 Sandys St., Chatham. Visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Pardoville Union Cemetery, Blenheim (corner of Bloomfield Rd and Talbot Trail). Service will be Live Streamed.
