Obituary for Murielle Beaulieu

A resident of Chatham,Murielle ‘Merle’ Beaulieu (nee Nadeau), passed away peacefully at the Chatham Kent Hospice on Wednesday July 3 2019 at the age of 66 after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.  Merle was born on September 1 1952 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick to the late Emile Nadeau and Agathe Demers (Godreau- Nadeau). Predeceased by her step father Leo Demers. Wife of Daniel Beaulieu for 47 years. Loving mother of Tabitha Boersma (Bill Barnier) of Morpeth, ON and Shawn Beaulieu of Chatham. Cherished grandmother of 5 grandchildren, Terri Lynn Beaulieu (Darryll Harper) of Chatham ON, Amber Boersma (fiance Kyle Hetherington) of London, Mileena Hould-Ohlman (fiance Jordan Carroll) of Chatham, Cody Boersma of Windsor and Shawna Beaulieu of Chatham. Great grandmother of Noah Beaulieu. Dear sister of Bill Nadeau, David Nadeau, Ron Nadeau, Suzanne Labelle, Nancy Nadeau all of Ottawa. Maurice Nadeau(Mary Tessier) of Deep River. Predeceased by her sister Jeanne Smith (2010) and her nephew Christopher Howes(1980). Merle will be deeply missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be deeply missed by her best friend of over 40 years, Doris Sutcliffe(Ted Cruse) of Chatham. They have been her rock through her difficult journey. Her other family at Riverview Bingo which she was Manager of for close to 30 years. Merle was an avid bingo player and loved the casino, shopping and reading many books, and enjoyed sitting outside on the swing for hours. She loved country music and Elvis Presley. Special thank you to the Chatham Kent Hospice staff for their outstanding care and compassion during her stay and a special thank you to Dr. Burgess for his kindness and compassion. Merle appreciated all of you very much as well as the family. In memory of Merle, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and Chatham Kent Hospice or charity of your choice in lieu of flowers. The family will be having a celebration of life gathering at Aristos in Chatham (back of Smitty’s on Grand Ave) on Saturday August 10th from 1-4pm.
