Matthew Wayne Hewer of Chatham. Beloved son of Wayne and Jeanette Hewer and brother of Melissa Aitken (Tim). Uncle of Ashley, Arielle, and Aliea. Great-uncle of Bryson and Ella. Matthew is the nephew of Wendy Johnston (Larry) of Wilksport, Ken Hewer of Kingsville, and John Harris (Becky) of Windsor. Predeceased by uncles Robert Pinsonneault of Port Lambton and John Pinsonneault of Thamesville. Matthew was always extremely active in sports in his youth, playing in many levels of hockey with Chatham Minor Hockey House League, Travel and Select teams. Matthew loved his work as an educational assistant with youth and children and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chatham-Kent Student Nutrition Program would be appreciated. All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Matthew's life on Saturday November 26, 2022 from 12 - 3 pm at the KBD Club in Chatham.
