Obituary for Marie Schell (Tremblay)
It is with heavy hearts that her family shares that Doreen "Marie" Schell (nee Tremblay), 86, of Sarnia, ON, Canada, passed away on January 17, 2023. Marie was born on April 1, 1936, to Priscilla (nee Laurin) and Howard Tremblay - proprietors of the former Tremblay’s Shoe Repair - in Gravenhurst, ON.
Marie's pride and joy was found in raising her six children. From the time Marie became a mom, she decided to dedicate her life to being a devoted mother. Marie excelled at supporting her children through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She enjoyed taking photos and building memory books. When Marie wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her favourite chair reminiscing about all the people in her photo albums and reading mystery novels.
We will miss her greatly, but the faith she modeled will comfort us knowing she rests in the arms of God. Marie is predeceased by her son Matthew Schell and her parents as well as her brothers Garnet Tremblay and Roger Tremblay. She is survived by her children Martin Schell (Rose), Mitchell Schell (Kathy), Miles Schell (Brian), Marshall Schell (Kim) and Melissa Latour (Nathan). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Adam Schell, Andrew Schell, Amanda Wilson, Lorne Schell, Taegan Schell, Cortney Versteeg, Christina Schell, Jordan Schell, Devan Latour, Simon Latour and Owen Latour. Her memory will be honoured for her 12 great-grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Ontario in her honour. An interment will be held this spring at St. Margaret’s Catholic Cemetery in Midland, ON.
