Husband of Elaine Murphy. Father of  Mark and Sherry Demaat, Dale Mayers, Melissa Mayers, Michelle Swackhammer, the late Steven and Jeffery Mayers. Step father of Edwin Murphy and Tina Platten, Tammy (Murphy) and Rob Lodewegen, Dawn and Tony Paino. Grandfather of Tricia and Tim Gammage, Adam and Troy Demaat, Scott and Jesse Worth, Danielle and Chris Schweitzer, Lindsay, Emily and Ryan Swackhammer, Markie Mayers, Kaley Ripley, EJ Murphy, Ashley and Wyatt Hoekstra, Christopher and Shayna Murphy, Michael Christina and Andrew Paino. Great grandfather of Tara, Allen, Jace, Summer and Sophia, Amelia, Charlotte, Maverick, Hadlee and Addilyn. The celebration of Lionel’s life will be planned for a later date.
