Great grandmother of Vivian, Evelyn and Eleanor Kaszycki, Claire and Alannah Kaszycki and Dax and Bohdan Courtenay. Sister of Margaret Hetherington (Bill) and Johnny Muller (Katherine). Mom and Dad started their family in Milton, Ontario back in 1951, where they owned & operated the former Blue Goose Restaurant on Main St. Mom was active in many community activities, with softball, bowling and cards being amongst her favourites. Many a night her children were kept up by the sounds emanating from the kitchen as Dad declared a lone hand, and ended up getting Euchred. Mom would just shake her head…lol. Mom and Dad were also very involved in Milton Minor Hockey. Mom was an accomplished pianist, a talent she enjoyed throughout her life. Mom passed on her love of music and musical theatre to all of us. Just ask her grandkids O. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, South Pacific, anything with Nelson Eddie and Jeanette MacDonald, or Fred Estaire and Ginger Rogers were among the many that tickled her fancy. Her tastes broadened to include the new classics like Uptown Funk, Bohemian Rhapsody and anything from Les Miserables. And she loved to dance. Many times Mom and Dad would stop the dance floor while jiving to In the Mood. Though we lost Dad at a young age, Mom kept family ties strong as a central figure to all our family spread through out the world. Her love of sport’s was renowned. She is the only one we know who could make golf a contact sport as an armchair enthusiast. Mom also had a great love of the outdoors, so long as it included a chair and some suntan lotion. The biggest smiles were always for the wee ones. Mom loved to see the great grand kids and never forgot a birthday or special occasion. Her “Nanny-isms” will be remembered forever. Though most cannot be shared here…lol…”don’t give me that malarkey”, “ya turkey” and “get off it” (as in she didn’t believe what you were saying) were some of her favourites. We love you and miss you Mom/Nanny…we’re sure Dad/Dziadzio has your chair at the table and the cards ready to roll. Give him a hug from us all. A private gathering will follow at a later date.
