Obituary for Len Krukowski

Krukowski , Leonard (Len) Melvin, Peacefully at Meadow Park Nursing home on Tuesday March 26, 2019 surround by his family, in his 82nd year left this world to begin a new journey. Born August 8, 1937 to the late Paul & Mary Krukowski.  Loving husband for 58 years to Sharon and cherished father to Karen (Doug) Waymouth. Beloved Grandpa and Great Grandpa to Todd (Gayle) Waymouth, the late Tracey (Parry) Hulme, Ryley, Kelsi and Josh.  Survived by sisters Helen (Robert) Tuck, Josephine Riley, brother in law Nick (MJ) Legary and sister in law Janice Gray. Predeceased by brothers John, Andrew, sister in laws Ida and Brenda, brother in laws Bud, Larry, Dale and Eugene.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Len was a devoted husband and father with a big heart who cared deeply about his family. Len worked for many years in the automotive industry as a mechanic and salesman. Len started his career at Labombard’s Chatham, after 29 years he moved onto Walker/NAPA Automotive and saved the best to last and retired from Ray Mac Distributors. Len had a natural gift to gab, a big heart and a smile to match. He enjoyed his work, especially the interaction with old and new customers. Len enjoyed the simple things in life, entertaining and spending time with friends and family any reason to celebrate was a great day for him. Spending many sunny days in the backyard washing his vehicle, relaxing on the patio with a ‘cold’ Canadian, listening to music, especially Bob Seger and every now and then he could be seen doing the “Lenny shake and shout”.He loved Sunday drives, cruising the drag and ending the day BBQing up a scrumptious Sunday dinner. Over the years he had many cherished four-legged companions, Fluffer, Casey, Murphy, Cuddles and Jack. Special thank you to Dr. Biondi, Dr. Bailey and the staff at Meadow Park Nursing home who cared for Len with compassion and dignity. Although we will miss him, his love for life and living each day to fullest will never be forgotten.  As one journey ends a new one begins, we wish our ‘special’ man peace and love as he soars to new adventures. In keeping with Len’s wishes cremation has taken place with family internment. A Celebration of His Life will commence on Saturday April 6, 2019 at Aristos Banquet Hall 307 Grand Ave W, Chatham from 1 to 4 pm. With Pastor Greg Simpson to lead a time of reflection and storytelling.
