Obituary for Ken Ladouceur

Ladouceur, Kenneth Joseph – Dec. 7-1943 – Sept. 26-2017 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Ken Ladouceur, on Tuesday September 26th,2017 at St.Joseph’s Hospice Sarnia.
Ken is survived by his loving wife Louise, his son Derrick (Michelle), daughters Cheryl (Joe Andali) and Angela (Chris Brown). He was the proud papa of Alexis, Lauren, Lucas, Ryan and Nicholas. Ken is also survived by his brother Michel (Diane), sisters in law Alice and Shirley, and extended family. Ken was born and raised in Ottawa, belonged to IBEW local 586, before relocating to Sarnia in 1978 and eventually becoming a member of Local 530 IBEW Sarnia.
In 2015, Ken received his 50th year membership pin from IBEW, being a tremendous honor for Kenny and his family. Kenny travelled from East Coast to West Coast and all in between, creating life long friendships wherever he ventured. He was a mentor to those in the electrician’s field as well as a mentor of kindness and generosity to those who had the pleasure to meet him. He was a loving, kind, caring man who always had a quick come back and a great sense of humor until the very end. Ken enjoyed taking long unscheduled road trips with Louise in his pride and joy, his mustang. Ken was able to spend his last few days with what he valued most dearly, his family, and enjoying the beautiful gardens at St.Joseph’s Hospice. We, his family, would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of ICU and Medicine of Bluewater Health. To the compassionate, supportive and caring staff of the Palliative Unit, Bluewater Health, we thank you. Special thanks to Dr. Cheong, Dr. Greensmith and Dr. Crombeen for treating Ken with such value and the dignity that he so deserved. To the volunteers and staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice for making Ken’s final days on earth as comfortable as possible, ensuring he could enjoy the outdoors, and also providing loving care to his family. To Shirley (Bluewater Health) and Kellie (St. Joseph’s Hospice) our Spiritual Coordinators, you both have been the foundation of our ongoing faith. To Father Savel, we are so grateful for the generosity of your plentiful visits and prayers. Cremation has taken place. According to Ken’s wishes there will be no visitation, however a funeral mass will be held Monday October 2nd, 2017 at 10;00 am at St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, 1011 Oak Street, Sarnia, followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Sympathy may be expressed through donations in Ken’s memory to Bluewater Health Palliative Unit, or St. Joseph’s Hospice. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
Forever in our Hearts.
