Obituary for Katherin Smith (Bloom)
June 19, 1959-September 28, 2022
It is with broken hearts that the family of Katherin Ann (Cathy Bloom) Smith announce the end of her journey. She’ll be lovingly remembered by her father John Bloom, her husband Mark Smith, daughters Jennifer (Matt) Krissak, Ashley Smith, her sisters Kim (Joe) Neto, Carolyn (Dan) Wilson, her brother Robert Bloom, best friend Doreen Bloom, brothers-in-law David Smith, Mike (Carol) Smith, sisters-in-law Alexis (Ralf) Ziebula, Andrea Friedman and several nieces and nephews. She’s predeceased by her mother Shirley Rose Bloom, and nephew Jeremy Vander Paelt, and mother and father in law Carolyn and John Smith.
Cathy was a generous, friendly, loving, smart, feisty, self directed, decisive mother, sister, daughter, aunt, wife and friend. She’ll be remembered for her fabulous cooking, sense of humour, resilience and unending love for those close to her.
She started her career in legal administration and spent many years as a loyal, conscientious employee with Farm Credit Canada until her recent retirement. As Cathy directed, cremation has taken place.
A private celebration of life will follow at a later date.
