With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph “Gene” Leblanc on Sunday August 23, 2020 at Copper Terrace in Chatham. Born 78 years ago in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Son of the late Dennis and Edesse LeBlanc. Brother of Roy (Joan), Annette (Ronald), Irene (Johnny). Husband of Sylvia for over 58 years. Father of Michael L. Leblanc (Tina), Bonnie E. McCathern (Gerald) and Shelley G. Draper (Jeff). Grandfather of Kristina (ERIC), Jessica (KEN), MIKE JR. (VICKIE), Elizabeth (Hendrik), Jerry (Amy), Michelle ( Phil), Aaron ( Alexis), Nicolas ( April) and Ethan. Survived by 15 great grandchildren. Special nephew to dear Aunt Nora Leblanc. Gene worked for many as a framer and also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was special to many other relatives and friends and will be missed. Those wishing to make a memorial donation are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Gene’s family will be remembering him privately with a private service for immediate family at a later date.
