Obituary for Jon Brown
BROWN, Jon Wesley, 76 years, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday May 29, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Rosemary Caron. Cherished son of the late Edward & Elsie Brown. Loving Father of Barb Brown & Jim Easton (predeceased), Michael & Wendy Brown, Karen & Brian Pugh, Don Brown & Rose Ullmann, Sue Brown & Russ Broadbent, Renee & Greg Frederick, and Sherry & Chris Kane. An adored Papa to 15 Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Jon will be sadly missed by his siblings – Bill & Clare Brown, Bob & Donna Brown, the late Jim Brown, Denis & Carol Brown, Lynn Maw, Dale & Bonnie Brown and many nieces and nephews.
Jon had a long career working at Eaton Yale as an assembly linesman.
He loved to travel, taking many trips to see his brother Bill in Buffalo Point, Winnipeg. Jon was a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He was an excellent hockey player in his younger years. Jon excelled at bowling, earning many trophies. He enjoyed fishing, and thoroughly enjoyed a good fish fry. He had a large collection of duck keepsakes. Papa always had Smarties for the grandchildren. Jon was blessed to have loved two faithful companions – Taco and Yoda (and grand-dog Andy)
Jon’s favourite place was in his chair, legs crossed – with a cigarette and rye and ginger. He loved to tell everyone “Don’t tell me what to do!” Even when we weren’t .
