Obituary for Jean Miller

The family of Jean Miller (Wrathell) announces her peaceful passing at Chatham-Kent Hospice on October 5, 2019, at the age of 91. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Morris, her infant son Jamie, her sister Elizabeth Bilinski and brother, Malcolm Wrathell. Jean was the loving mother of 3 sons: Patrick (Patti), Michael (Janice) and Mark (Halley) and 4 daughters: Maureen (Doug), Colleen, Mary Ann (Kevin) and Beth. She was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren: Will (Jen), Erin (Greg), Jonathan (Lyndi), Matthew (Stephanie), Jamie, Shane, Alec, Patrick, Laurel, Cole, Drew, Luke, Mark, and Ian. Jean also leaves 4 cherished great-grandchildren: Emma Jean, Jacob, Luke and Olivia. She will be fondly remembered by her sister-in -law Gladys Miller, as well as many nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Jean faced each challenge with grace and determination. She will be remembered for her positive attitude, her compassion, her great sense of humour and her strength in the face of adversity. Jean’s family would like to acknowledge the staff and the residents at Grand Retirement Living for their sincere concern and daily kindnesses. Jean loved her final years in your community.  Special thanks also to the VON personal support workers and the assistance provided through March of Dimes. With the care and support Jean received she was able to remain in her home. Jean’s family would also like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Chatham-Kent Hospital and Hospice sites for providing comfort in her final days. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Life Transitions, Chatham. At Jean’s request, a funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 11 am. Visitation will precede the Mass from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
