Born in England in 1946 to Renee Smith and the late Bill Smith (1986), Jean passed away suddenly at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance April 30, 2021.  Wife of the late Douglas Ashley(1997), mother of Karen Travis (Jim), Tami Gillier(Mike), James Ashley and Stephen Ashley (Jennifer). Grandmother of Jason Gillier(Chantelle), Jonathan Gillier (Nicole), Peter Gillier, Emilee Gillier-Fysh (Jeffery), Jordan Ashley-Ost (Mitchel Morreau), Kathryn Travis, Douglas Ashley, Erin Juteram (Daniel), Tyler Ashley, Jocelyn Kiryluk-Ashley and Connor LaCourse. Great Grandmother of Olivia Gillier, baby Gillier and baby boy Juteram arriving soon.  Sister of Bill Smith (Jan), Jack Smith (Victoria), sister in law of the late David Ashley (2018), Donald Ashley (Missy) and Gayle Pettit (Rick). Aunt to five nieces and seven nephews. Also survived by mother-in-law Betty Tebbit. If desired, in memory of Jean, donations may be directed to PAWR (Chatham).  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family interment will occur, and a celebration of Jean’s life will occur at a later date.
