Obituary for James Mott

Jim passed away unexpectedly at Victoria Hospital on May 17, 2021 with his family by his side.   He leaves behind Kay, his best friend and cherished wife of 57 years, his daughter Cathy Mott (Mick Normandeau), son Eric Mott (Dianne Thomas) and is predeceased by his son Jimmy (1986).   Jim will be missed by his grandson Jeremey (Shan Shan), granddaughter Jamie,   great granddaughter Layla, and his two furbabies Piper & Jack.   He will also be missed by his loving sister Suzanne Pocklington (Dr. James Pocklington) and Aunt Georgina Whitlaw (the late Uncle Jack).     Jim was predeceased by his parents Manley and Gwen Mott and his three brothers, Dwight (Marlene), Tom (the late Gloria) and Terry (Bonnie) and and his parents-in-law Rex and Ivy Garrett, as well as his beautiful niece Eilidh Macintyre. Jim is survived by siblings-in-law, Sylvia Blain (Keith Squires),   Dr. Rex Garrett (Marnie), Paul Garrett (Ann),   Susan Macintyre (John), Michael Garrett ( Wanda) and Cindy Garrett.   He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were dear to his heart.   Family enjoyed pool parties and rented ponies in the backyard with Uncle Jim. Jim was a life time member of Paterson Memorial Church, a 50 year member of Liberty Lodge, a Shriner, and a prominent local business man. Jim’s family extends grateful thanks to the compassionate, caring staff of C5-100 at Victoria Hospital in London for their excellent care.   Thank you to his good friend, Jim McCormick, for his faithful weekly visits. Cremation has taken place and due to Covid-19 there will be no visitation.   A private family service will be held.   Friends who wish to honour Jim with a donation can do so to the charity of their choice.
