Obituary for Greg Helston

On Tuesday June 25, 2019, Greg Helston, husband, father, son, and brother, passed away at the age of 59. Greg, affectionately known as “Bucky”, was a proud Petrolia resident for most of his life. He often shared memories of his time as a trainer for the Squires, epic parties with the Krazies, and the cherished friendships that grew from both. An avid fan, Greg possessed incredible knowledge of all-things-sport which he happily shared, even during playoffs. Despite his encyclopedic insight, he remained devoted to the Leafs and the Browns. His playfulness and sense of adventure were infectious and his zest for life endless. Greg will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Lorie and daughter Heather. Greg will also be affectionately remembered by his sisters June Luker, Marie (Brad) Crow, and Lori-Ann (Bill) Janess and their families, special friends John and Marg Thomson and Charles Seymour. Greg was predeceased by his mother Mary, sister Ruth, nephew Ricky, and dear friend Ed. Our deepest gratitude to the staff at BWH-MedP for the exceptional care provided to Greg at the end of his life. Thank you for hearing him, for respecting him, and for ensuring that his final wish came true. Special thanks to Cheryl, Ellen, Tina, and Dr. Maddison who supported and comforted us during the most difficult days. At Greg’s request there will not be a funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
