Obituary for Gord Duplessis

Gord Duplessis passed peacefully at his home while surrounded by family on Tuesday November 10 , 2020. Son of the late Francis and Emma Duplessis. Husband of Sarah (nee Lesperance) for over 64 years.  Father of Gordon Jr. (Edith), Darlene (Allan Burk), Dale (Penny) and Shirley Anne (Tom Tinning). Grandfather of Ean (Sarah), James Wilkes, Aaron (Aliza), Justen Wilkes (Gwen), Nicole (Jeff), Samantha (Austin), Larry Chavana, Amanda Chavana and Louie Burk. Great grandfather of Danielle, Jessica, Drake Duplessis, Hunter Duplessis-Scobie, Calev, Layla Duplessis, Cedar, Hazel Wilkes and Danika Pierce. Pep to Tanya McCauley, Todd and Kyle Shaw. Gord is brother to Alice and Jim Recker, Beatrice and William Hayes, Shirley Ann and Ken Mailloux. He will be deeply missed by his dog Vanah White. Gord enjoyed his 59 Edsel, socializing at car shows, teasing his sister Beatrice about her Toronto Maple Leafs.  He will be forever remembered for his skill of buying and selling cars and helping the many people he met through his business Gord’s Towing. Gord had a unique sense of humour and loved to tease and assign “pet names” for everyone in the family. He also greatly treasured his family time, pig roasts and Wheel of Fortune with Sarah. Gord was most proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren but was especially proud of his wife Sarah and loved the way she sang the “French Song”. A big thanks to Marie Gillings for his favorite sugar cookies. Gord’s family will be remembering him privately. Memorial donations may be directed to the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals. In life we loved you dearly In death we do the same It broke our hearts to lose you The day he called your name You left us beautiful memories Your love is still our guide And though we can not see you You are always by our side.
