Obituary for Gerry Meyerink

Mr Gerard Donald Meyerink, “Gerry” died peacefully in London Ontario on April 3, 2019 at the age of 59. Gerry is survived by his parents, Donald and Helen Meyerink of Chatham, previously married to Denise Throsel, father to Devon Throsel and Jarred Meyerink, brother to Dan (Janice) Meyerink, Katherine Meyerink, Larry (Janice) Meyerink, Suzanne (Harry) Hoekstra, and Robert (Colette) Meyerink.  Mother/Father in-law Maxine & Larry Throsel, Brother in-law Darryl (Penny) Throsel, Brother in-law David (Terri) Throsel, Sister in law Darlene (Walter) Lactin and Brother in-law Dennis Throsel.  Gerry was born in Chatham Ontario, he graduated from Chatham Kent Secondary School and Fanshawe College with a degree in Engineering. Gerry worked at SLE-CO Plastics Inc. in St Thomas as an Engineer. Gerry was an individual who loved jet skiing, playing and watching hockey,   being outdoors riding his bicycle and golfing. Gerry always enjoyed watching his boys play sports and end the day with a great home cooked meal. Gerry’s family would like to thank Darlene and Walter Lactin, Larry and Janice Meyerink, Harry and Suzanne Hoekstra and Denise and boys for support during an extended stay in hospital. As per Gerry’s wishes a Celebration of Life will be scheduled later this year. In lieu of flowers, please send donation to C-K Hospice or Ronald McDonald House. Gerry was a dedicated father and supported all children’s activities, especially hockey and soccer. Gerry’s famous last words were “One day at a time.”
