Obituary for Gerbrigje "Gaye" VanderWoude

Gerbrigje (Gaye) VanderWoude of Chatham, passed peacefully on Saturday April 20, 2019 at Riverview Gardens. Gaye has been released from her earthly struggles and gone to her Eternal Home where she is singing with the angels. Born on September 6, 1931 in Hommerts, Friesland (The Netherlands) daughter of Nanne DeBoer and Antje DeBoer-Tiersma. Wife of the late Mink (Mike) VanderWoude (2013). Mother of the late Annette (2003), Jenny (Ray) Wolting, Frank (Mona) Vanderwoude, and Michael (Tracy) Vanderwoude. Beppe to Greg (Ashley) Wolting, Alicia (Richard) Kralt, Jessica Wolting, Corey Wolting, David (Rachel) Vanderwoude, Darryl Vanderwoude (friend Klaudia Nowak), Holly Vanderwoude (fiancé Eric Maier) and Kayla Powell. Great-Grandmother to Hunter, Owen and Jace Wolting and Amelia, Roslyn and Logan Kralt. Also survived by her sisters Annie and Geeke, predeceased by her siblings Thewis, Pier, Henk, Pieter, Peet, Meije, Hilly and Nanne. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of Chatham Kent or the Chatham Kent Hospice. Private Family Service and Interment.   Gaye’s family would like to invite friends to attend a Time of Gathering and Fellowship on Saturday, April 27 from 2:30 to 4:30 PM at the First Christian Reformed Church, 25 Tweedsmuir Ave. W., Chatham (Fellowship Hall), where we would love to meet you and share memories of our Mother and Beppe’s life.
