After a battle with cancer, Edward Blondeel passed away on Saturday November 19th, 2022 at home with family in his 81st year. He was the son of the late Gustaff and Eliza (Hoekier) Blondeel. Father of two daughters Cheryl (Jamie) Gallant and Cathy (Lee) Henderson and one son Gus Blondeel. Papa to ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Survived by his friend Cindy. He will be missed by his sisters Mary Lucier and Jean Coopman and his brothers Maurice, Norm and Jerome Blondeel. Predeceased by his sister Leona Tetreault and brothers Rogier, Charlie, and George Blondeel. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ed was self employed his whole life. He started Blondeel Glass in the sixties on Queen St in Chatham where it still stands today. He developed The Summer Place Marina and Campground in the 80’s and then retired. Not long after he retired he went back to work where he owned and operated another campground, Lakeside Cottage and Trailer Park in Cobden Ontario. Even though he worked hard through his whole life he liked to take time with the true loves in his life which were hunting, fishing, and camping.
In keeping with Ed’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place in the spring when the weather will be nicer.
