Obituary for Douglas Rancourt

Douglas “Doug” Fud Rancourt, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family In Chatham Ontario, on August 23 2022 at the age of 63. Doug was predeceased by his son Thomas Rancourt (2019). Doug is survived by his loving wife Kathy Wilcox (Rancourt) of 33 years. Doug is lovingly remembered by his children, Dave and Kristin Rancourt of Corunna, Ontario, Robyn and Peter Cudmore, April Wilcox, Vickie and Michael LeBlanc of Chatham Ontario, Rebecca and Ryan Grondin of Windsor, Ontario. Loving Grandfather to: Andy, Milo, Tiffany, Phenix, Logan, Troy, Joshua, Lily, Kailee, Aiden, and Quinn. As well as close friends with Ken Elliott, Lori Van Bemmel (ife) and Ryan Butler. Doug was born in Chapleau, Ontario, September 27th 1958. He attended JMSS in Chatham Ontario, and graduated in 1977 after a 5 year distinguished football career as a safety, where his picture can still be seen hanging in the halls.

Doug will always be remembered for his love of family, his wonderful sense of humor, and his incredible work ethic. Throughout his life people always looked up to him for his knowledge and expertise. His smile and jokes could light up a room and have everyone laughing for hours. His willingness to help his fellow man was always shown as he was the first to offer a helping hand. Doug was an immense fan of science fiction from Asimov to Roddenberry.
