It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mom, Donajeane Leighton of Sarnia. Courageously battling back from Covid, but ultimately passed away peacefully and pain free in the early morning hours on July 29/21. She was in her 87th year. Predeceased by her parents Carrie and James High, and husband Peter of 68 years (Dec. 14/2020) and daughter Susan Foster (Dec. 14/2000). Much loved mother of Judy Greenwood (Chuck), Terry (Virginia),Leighton, Sandy Furlotte (Shawn), and Doug. Leighton. Proud Grandmother of Stacey Wilson (Don), Steve Foster (Brianne), Cory Greenwood (Stephanie), Kyle Greenwood (Jacqueline), Randy Leighton (Amber), Chris Leighton (Carrie), Michael Leighton (Jennifer) and Tim Leighton. Beloved Great Grandma to 16 great grandchildren. She was known as a wonderful and caring woman, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother to such a huge family. Peter and Donajeane had no siblings, so their goal was to have a large family. Mission accomplished. Donajeane was born in Chatham On. and later moved to Sarnia married Peter, and began raising 5 children. She was the best mother and provider you will ever find, employed with International Tire, Big V, and enjoyed selling Avon. She was a member of the Women’s Sorority for nearly 50 years where she met life long friends, volunteered for many fund raisers, and helped many people. She cared for us when we were sick, ensured we always sat down as a family for meals. and was always there for us when we needed guidance. What a wonderful woman to set an example for the rest of us. We will miss her dearly. The family would like to thank the friends and staff at both Vision Rest Home and Afton Park Place for care and friendship.
