Obituary for Dennis Summerfield

After a valiant battle with an aggressive cancer, Dennis E Summerfield of PainCourt, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2023. Born in Tillsonburg, Ontario to the late John and Dorothy Summerfield on February 13,1950. Dennis was a devoted and loving husband to Denise Summerfield (nee Rivest) Life was full of challenges. Despite the challenges that came along with being a parent, Dennis' children were always and will forever be the love of his life. He leaves behind his children: Cresa, Jason, Nathalie (Kirk Vitek), Dan Snary (Karry) Jessica (Justin Belcoure), and Vanessa (Colin Martin). He was also a very proud grandpa to Alexandra, Erica, Elijah, Zoé, Connor, Lisa, Elizabeth, Hailie, Linken, Mackenzie, Dallas, Harlow, and Alivia. Dennis was also a very proud and fun great grandpa to Jonah and Noan. He also leaves behind his siblings: Cheryl (Claude), Wayne (Kim), Bonnie, Kathy (Randy), and Tammy (Dennis), and the late Jacquie, Robert, Cindy, Terry and Jerry. Dennis also had a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews. He will also be missed by his partners in crime; Bud Thompson and Kevin Vincent.

Dennis was a real handy man, and enjoyed doing so many projects. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, biking, walking, hiking, and had a great talent in art. Most recently he enjoyed his winters in Mexico and loved reading mystery and crime stories. Dennis loved listening to his rock and roll music, spending time in his garage and his backyard.

Dennis has left many happy memories for those who knew him and loved him that will last a lifetime. His friends and family will continue to honour his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Because Dennis celebrated life, no formal funeral service is being planned, instead he will be honoured with a private outdoor Celebration of Life in July.

He was one of a kind! He will be missed!
