OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA The greenhouses of Lambton County and beyond lost a fantastic customer on January 7, 2019. Aline Walton, of Brights Grove On, was a colourful and vibrant individual. She was thoughtful, caring and generous with a side of zest and a dash of quirk. She was our glue, our crazy glue. A woman of style and countless talents. She was an extraordinary gardener who could be found planting, digging, splitting, and pruning from sun up to sun down. It was always amazing to see how much soil and plants she could pack into her sports car. An amazing baker, seamstress, and decorator. Gifts that she shared with us all as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was full of adventure and never afraid to tackle any project or challenge, unless it had to do with mice; they would send her screaming and on top of the nearest chair within seconds! Never one to hesitate to talk to strangers, she knew the names and life stories of clerks, store managers, produce staff, pharmacists, receptionists, neighbours…I think you get the picture. Always eager to offer up help or advice, whether they wanted it or not. Throughout her life she regularly contributed to numerous charities. The Salvation Army, The Inn of the Good Shepherd, and The Humane Society to name a few. She was truly always thinking of others. She was a former resident of Owen Sound, know in the community, a member of the Garden Club and the YMCA swim club. Continuing to give beyond life, her change of address for the next 18-36 months is the Medical Sciences building at the University of Western in London, Ontario. She mentioned several times that she wished she had furthered her education…well Mom, you are off to University! Leaving behind with the best memories is the light of her life and husband of fifty-nine years, Michael; her biggest treasures, her four children, Michelle, Lisa (Paul, Tara, and Karli), Aline, and Miles (Heidi); her beloved grandsons Joshua, Grant, Brock, and Luke; and, her faithful St. Bernard, Lulu. In her heyday she was the life of the party. Everyone who remembers her is asked to celebrate her life in their own way. Raising a glass in her honour would be quite appropriate. In lieu of flowers, we know she would want you to be extra kind and to eat your vegetables.
